Resourceful Rah's Blog
Welcome to the Rant Rah! Here is where I’ll share my thoughts and opinions on all things resources, branding, business and much more! This is a blog, something like a business diary for you all to read.
Disclaimer: The Rah Rant won’t have that professional tone you may be use to seeing Resourceful Rah write with.
Hey Y'all,
August has taught me so much but the most impactful lesson is, "you can't want success more than the client you're servicing."
Let's unpack this...
Providing resource services allows me to work with many different people that all have their own unique personalities. This can sometimes be a challenge because every client isn't as motivated as the next. I'm sure by now you all are wondering why do I care about my clients being motivated, right ?
Ok, well here's the thing. Resourceful Rah is designed to genuinely help, empower and uplift others! With that said most times my success as a business owner is directly connected to the success of who I'm servicing. For example, when I'm booked to complete a SBA loan application I receive a flat fee, however if/when a customer is approved for a SBA loan I then receive an additional fee!
Now for some entrepreneurs receiving the flat fee is fine but not for me! I'm ambitious, I'm competitive and I want ALL THE MONEY!!! When working with a client that lacks motivation, isn't following instructions and/or refusing to complete the necessary follow ups to achieve success I get frustrated. I take it personal; I don't get the "oh well I got paid my fee" vibe - I get the "omgggg I losing money off the backend" vibe!
Throughout the month of August I was faced with this exact dilemma multiple times. I had approximately 5 clients get approved for the SBA Grants! I was so excited, proud of my work and ready to run up a bag with all of them. Unfortunately some clients just wasn't willing to complete the necessary follow ups to secure the grants.
There's always a lesson to learn...
So always remember do what you can, don't stress what you can't control, pour into the clients that are WILLING to pour into themselves and always remember "you can't want success more than the client you are servicing."
